Probabilities

            To find the probabilities of the random walk, and the cross-sectional area of the trapezoids, you need to draw a diagram.

            If you have the following diagram, you can figure out the probabilities of landing on one of these spots.

            Say you are given a problem where you want to figure out the following things:

                    X= 1             Y= 1

                    X= 3             Y= -3

                   X=1, Y=3       X= -1,Y= -3

            Look at the picture and find  out how many of the points contain the information the question asks for, as follows:

                        Information                                           Ways to get it

                                    X= 1                                                    2

                                    Y= 1                                                    2

                                    X= 3                                                    2

                                    Y= -3                                                   2

                                    X=1, Y=3                                            1

                                    X=-1, Y=-3                                         1
